Christmas on the ROAD!

I think I could get used to travelling. We went to Davao City for a family reunion and to celebrate Christmas.  It is actually a first for me to spend the season outside my home but took the challenge nevertheless. The trip form Cagayan de Oro to Davao via Buda Bukidnon is 8 hours. Anyone can take 6 to 7 hours for this route but since we are travelling with kids, we are just taking it a step at a time.

traditional chicken soup + fried chicken without the unnecessary crumbs. YUM!

Food while on travel! 8 hours is that long. took lunch on the road too.

On the 23rd, we went to this magical place of Christmas lights in Davao. Great attraction for people passing bye. They also have mascots for kids and young at heart.

I love my family. And I am happy I get to spend this special time with them.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

So much fun times in Vietnam. The two weeks was definitely more than we could ask for. We reunited as family after two years and my son definitely got some special treatment from all the aunties and grand ma and pa! Tried so many food, it was crazy!

Brand New Hairstyle!

By the way, I did some drastic change with my hair while in Ho Chi Minh! No particular reason really. My sisters thought I looked such a drag with long hair so they really forced me to do the most random thing and cut my hair very short. I am not high maintenance at all especially with hair so I thought perhaps this would save me from having to use more products for my hair. Nevertheless, it happened! I look more boyish now but I guess I am getting used to it. (The high maintenance part just got bigger! I have to use a hair mousse now.)

Exploring Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Within our two-week Vietnam trip, we slid 6-hour bus ride to Cambodia and spent one night in the country. Practically, our main purpose was to have our passport stamped and also find great deals for clothing and accessories for gifts at home, for sale and of course for our own. I went with my sister Rexa, my partner Mel and mother Anita. Dwayne was left at home in Ho Chi Minh as these trips are not suitable for kids. And we were right, it was long and fast paced, not worth it with a 2 year old on hand. Nevertheless, we got some good bargains and surprisingly got some discoveries along the way.

On the Tuk Tuk

Lunch!

Traders, Sellers and even Tuk Tuk drivers have dollars in their pockets!
Rice is so rich here, you will get full in just one serving.
No hot coffee available, I guess they are not a fan. If you want hot coffee, you have to make your own.
Foreigners get triple of the asking price. Another way of gaining more income without that much of a hassle I guess.
Cambodia has just opened its door for international investors and to everyone. A start of something new for them.
Luxury cars are a lot in this place. Range Rovers, Lexus, and all other expensive cars are present here. I was astonished but it is reality.
Just like the Philippines, this country is still making its mark globally, definitely one great place to get culture exposure.

Tuk Tuk!

There is so much to learn, to explore and discover. Truly, not everyone is the same. We have varied beliefs, traditions and way of doing things. We may not like some but definitely, traveling allows you to respect others unconditionally. You learn to be patient and humble and all the times obedient to their rules and regulations and appreciate their uniqueness.
