Exploring Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Within our two-week Vietnam trip, we slid 6-hour bus ride to Cambodia and spent one night in the country. Practically, our main purpose was to have our passport stamped and also find great deals for clothing and accessories for gifts at home, for sale and of course for our own. I went with my sister Rexa, my partner Mel and mother Anita. Dwayne was left at home in Ho Chi Minh as these trips are not suitable for kids. And we were right, it was long and fast paced, not worth it with a 2 year old on hand. Nevertheless, we got some good bargains and surprisingly got some discoveries along the way.

Lunch!

Traders, Sellers and even Tuk Tuk drivers have dollars in their pockets!
Rice is so rich here, you will get full in just one serving.
No hot coffee available, I guess they are not a fan. If you want hot coffee, you have to make your own.
Foreigners get triple of the asking price. Another way of gaining more income without that much of a hassle I guess.
Cambodia has just opened its door for international investors and to everyone. A start of something new for them.
Luxury cars are a lot in this place. Range Rovers, Lexus, and all other expensive cars are present here. I was astonished but it is reality.
Just like the Philippines, this country is still making its mark globally, definitely one great place to get culture exposure.

There is so much to learn, to explore and discover. Truly, not everyone is the same. We have varied beliefs, traditions and way of doing things. We may not like some but definitely, traveling allows you to respect others unconditionally. You learn to be patient and humble and all the times obedient to their rules and regulations and appreciate their uniqueness.

  1. I'm so jealous you get to go explore all these wonderful countries! I agree with you when you say traveling allows you to respect others. So true! We all live such different lives, but we're all human and we have to respect that.

    Again, loving all the pictures!
