Second Best Thing

I must admit that my first food feature did not appear to be as appetizing as it really is. But, I wanted to start with the basics. I think that when you appreciate something as native and something as raw as Balut, you can appreciate all other delicacy in the market.

I did promise of a second food blog. Now, bare with me because I am new at this. I have yet to experience all other great dishes in the world. But these are just for starters. Nonetheless, this food extravaganza is my way of saying that despite all the negativity brought by politics or calamities here in the Philippines, I still love our stuff.

So, here goes. My second best food love is La Paz Batchoy. If you are truly Pinoy, this would be in your list too. Although based on my asking around, it's not an original recipe of the nomadic Pinoy but it has grown to be one of the most sought after especially when rainy season.

What I love about it is its bursting with warm, nutritious and yummy noodle soup. It is composed of pork meat, fats and liver with pancit and spices. You can have it with or without egg as well.

I know right?

Doesn't that look like you wanna dig in? Definitely! I have one favorite junction of that here. D' Original LaPaz Batchoy in Cagayan de Oro. You can find them at Capistrano St. with prices ranging to Php60 - Php150 depending the size of your bowl.

For more info about this noodle soup, or you might want to try cooking them yourself, check this site: http://www.pinoyrecipe.net/la-paz-batchoy-recipe/
