Anyway, so there we were at 3 in the afternoon competing with the noisy, busy and tight street in Divisoria. Imagine that some the roads were blocked because they were trying to repair it and so if you picture the whole thing there's no way to go. We have to find somewhere we could park. It felt like we were on oven toast. I was sweaty and so was Dwayne. True enough he went with us. The sky was cloudy almost gloomy as a matter of fact. So we were already thinking it was gonna rain from the looks of it.
Fortunately, we were lucky enough to find a space for parking. Beside it was an old building and in front was a building under construction. And the road was getting busier with jeepneys and motorelas everywhere. So we decided that Mel would go to the Post Office alone because he said he'd have to pay for money order to send his birth certificate to Manila for the name change.( This was sort of a relief also because unlike the old times where you have to pay for a lawyer to do this, now its much cheaper and the local civil registry can do it for you. You just have to pay some fees.)

After 10 to 15 minutes which felt like forever, Mel came back with the receipt of the money order. I can really see in his face that he was excited and happy. And so was I. The next step was to go to the Civil Registrar and give them the receipt so they can send it. And once again, we had to go and look for another parking space close to City Hall. And to no avail, there was none. The street was full of parked cars already. And yes, we went back to our previous parking space and decided he went alone again because it was gonna rain and we did not bring any umbrella. We couldn't let Dwayne soak in the rain. So yeah we stayed in the van, me and Dwayne.
I told him to do it quick because I don't think I'm gonna last with our kid. I mean I have no complaints. It's just that my kid is a boy, first of all. He's into getting his hands dirty taking anything even car tools, he would get!!! And his happy with that. He would get all dirty and messy. He's very active. I couldn't keep up. I believe we waited an hour or so in the van. And I even got out because I couldn't understand my head anymore. I don't know if my blood pressure was up again or what. I was sweating hard and fast. Dwayne was the same. He was sweating profusely. I had to change his shirt two times. And then guess what, it actually rained! I had to go inside the van. I thought there was some air or wind from the rain but no. It was just rain. It wasn't even cold. Even if I got my head turn outside the window, it was the same old dusty rainy day. I hated that moment. I thought I was gonna die. We couldn't go anywhere.
So I let Dwayne be. There's no use in keeping him from getting his hands dirty. I just had to make sure he didn't fall or stumble across something that would harm him or get injured. I finally let go. And relaxed myself. there was no point in stopping him. He knows what he wants and he will do everything to get it. I guess when you think about it, it's not so bad after all. At least your kid even from an infant stage already knows what he wants and is decided to get it through thick and thin. So, when his father came back. I was already weak and I didn't show any smiles, whatever.
On the other hand, Mel was so happy that now he had hopes with his birth certificate. He said it would take a month before the return mail with the correction already. I was relieved. But our plan to grab snacks somewhere air conditioned was aborted, we went home directly. I had to change clothes and Dwayne too. He also needed some rest. It was just meant to go home. So we did. Along the way we had to sing him twinkle twinkle to let our baby rest. Luckily, he did. He listened to the song.
When we got home, we asked our house help to make some hotdogs for us. We ate with much gusto paired with Iced Tea. It was the BEST! All is well.
