What a Monday!
So, I was browsing through Facebook and saw a status of a friend and previous colleague saying there's a new place in town for milk tea called CHINGKEETEA in Pabayo-Gaerlan St. Marfori Compound. I did not know anything about milk tea in particular but I've seen some people post it in their pages somewhere in the country but never expected there would be one here in Cagayan de Oro. I did some searching and looked it up in Google and got really interested in the unique interior of the CHINGKEETEA. I thought this is the first and what a perfect place for me and my friends Mai Zamora, John Moncada and Joyce Morre to meet and chat and we did for hours until the store closed. Apparently it closes at 8pm.
The entire place was so quaint. I felt like we were in a doll house but it's so homey, it feels like you are in a place where creativity is preserved and collections are well displayed. And you see clearly the character of the person who designed it. Tea cups, lamps, customized sitting arrangement, fences, paintings, figurines, antiques, everything is well represented. Me and my friends agreed the place was really something special and we hope it will continue to be the way it is for a long time.
We ordered their famous Wintermelon Milk Tea for Php65 for a large size. And yes, it was fabulous. It was my first time to taste something like it so I can't compare. I can only say it has an aftertaste of coffee somewhat. But it was really good nevertheless. We hope to visit the place again soon with some of our other college friends. I give the tea shop a go for your money! Make sure to bring along friends who likes a place of quite conversation and even to do some school work while at recess. Ambiance is amazing!
You can find more photos in their page at Chingkeetea like page.
