The Beach!

We went to get a dip at the beach early in the morning today. It was one my partner thought about after me and my kid got the flu. Aside from the fact that we definitely need some natural healing, it was a good day to take a look at nature and enjoy (even on a Monday!).

In Cagayan de Oro, you rarely find a beach that is for free. Most beaches here are dominated by resorts owned by businessman and others. Usually, they ask for a certain fee when you use their facilities. As practical as we are, we decided to go to Kauswagan Public Beach. Basically, you come in and see loads of different people. Simply bring the basics and not your valuables.

The picture can certainly tell you that anyone comes here and some fisherman also take their harvest for everyone to see. And they have some of the freshest fish in the City.

Suddenly, everyone gathers around for new boats and buy fish! By the way, because the culture here does not require a bathing suit, nobody wears them (at least for most commoners). Truth is if you wear sexy bikini here in the public beach, all eyes are set on you. So be prepared.

We just dived in the water for a few minutes. Dwayne on the other hand was crying all the time. Poor boy, he probably felt rushed with the first encounter of the beach. We have to  get him used to the idea.

  1. Aaaw, I'm inggit. You're lucky that beaches are very accessible in your place. I grew up in a land-locked province (Nueva Ecija) and now live in the mountains. Summer is almost over and my family never got the chance to visit the beach.

  2. A beach where no one is in bathing suits and jumps in the water with regular clothes is my kind of beach! LOL...no one to judge you for your body.

And after you go in for a dip, you come out and buy some fish to take home. Fun!
