So, is my kid going to be ok?

According to my readings online, only 10% of the whole population consist of left-handed individuals, 90% which includes me, constitute the right-handed.
Infants beginning eight months and toddlers use both hands to do activities without realizing any preference at all. But by the 3 year mark, they will choose one over the other.
Long time ago, left-handed kids were forced to be right handed because they were believed to be "abnormal". This kind of phenomenon was considered a disease based on the fact that most if not all kids use right hand all the time. They are deemed clumsy and awkward simply because most of the tools and equipment are designed for right handed people and so it is much more difficult for them to navigate these devices.

It is strongly advised however, to guide left-handed kids in the whole process.

Today, educators as well as doctors believe that there is nothing wrong with left handed individuals. As a matter of fact, they could well excel in sports or art. But to generalize that all left-handed are artsy is also over implicating it.
Based on the Kids Health website: http://kidshealth.org/kid/talk/qa/lefties.html#
It's not true that lefties are always artsy. Right-handers Rembrandt and Van Gogh are two good examples. But here's how that theory began. For both righties and lefties, the brain is divided right down the middle into two sides called hemispheres. One hemisphere is on the right side of your head, and the other is on the left.
But here's the strange part: For complicated reasons, the right hemisphere controls movements on the left half of the body, which includes the left hand. And the left hemisphere controls movements on the right side.
Creative thought (writing a song, drawing a picture) happens mostly on the right side of the brain. So if you're left-handed, the theory goes that you're more likely to have a lot of creative thought going on.
But thought processes in your brain are way too complex to be limited to just one hemisphere. The two sides of your brain work together when you think. And just because you like using your left hand doesn't mean you only think with only one side of your brain.
Although, if I may be honest, I am a frustrated artist, so I would really love it if my kid have any artsy blood in him. Nonetheless, whether he'd be artistic, creative or sporty, I love him the same.

For sure if he'd be left-handed, he certainly took it from his auntie Rexa. She was supposedly lefty before but we forced her to be right-handed because we thought she was weird and doing it all wrong. But that was then. Now, we know better.
