Woke up 4:00AM today to witness TABO or as tradition here in the Philippines, an early Mass of Easter Sunday. It is a special occasion because according to History and the Bible, Jesus Christ resurrected (rose from the dead) after three days of suffering and death. So on this third day, the Angels came down from heaven and took JESUS, from HIS death (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Black Saturday) to his Resurrection (Easter Sunday).
Upon our arrival in the Church, there were already loads of people with their candles lit. And on the stage were girls costumed as ANGELS. I wasn't really able to get closer as the mass appeared to have begun earlier. But, this was vaguely just the picture. Easter Eggs and Bunnies are the thing of the western world. Here in our area, we go to mass and simply celebrate what Easter means to us. The mass took place just outside of the church perhaps to cater more people.
And along the way, took pictures of things on the road, people, food, the marketplace, and everything in between.
We bought some PUTO MAYA. It is a local delicacy of PILIT or THICK RICE (correct me if I am wrong with my translation) and then you just dip it in sugar and it's a good good snack or early morning breakfast. We paired it with Cappuccino at home. It was just delicious.
